On the southern outskirts of Weddington just off 12 Mile Road, a gated entrance leads into Skyecroft, one of suburban Charlotte’s most exclusive communities. Inspired by the serenity of the European countryside, this elegant neighborhood boasts lush landscaping, gorgeous water features throughout, serene walking trails, lantern streetlights and magnificent, Old-world style homes, centered around a sprawling clubhouse with Olympic sized pool and lighted tennis courts. A secluded getaway all its own yet minutes away from greater Charlotte, Skyecroft offers its residents the best of both worlds. Welcome to Skyecroft.

History

Skyecroft is a planned neighborhood with most of its homes built since 2008. However, the surrounding area is one rich in history, and while the town of Weddington has only been incorporated since 1983, its roots as an agricultural community date back to post-Revolutionary War days. The town itself draws its name from the Weddington family who first settled here in the early 1800s. Today, Skyecroft’s serene green spaces and exquisite architecture hark back to earlier times, even beyond early America, to her European roots, offering its residents a stylish, elegant respite from the hustle and bustle of metropolitan Charlotte.
