Located just off the 521 corridor in the Indian Land/Fort Mill area, the community of BridgeMill invites residents to enjoy the finest in south Charlotte suburban living, with wooded lots, landscaped grounds, resort-like amenities and stately designer homes that are at once spacious, luxurious and affordable. Add to all this the benefit of low South Carolina taxes, highly rated schools and convenient access to some of Charlotte’s finest destinations, and it’s little wonder that this welcoming subdivision is one of the most coveted in the south Charlotte suburbs.

History

While BridgeMill itself is a newer master-planned community, the surrounding area is one rich in history, with early Scotch-Irish settlers arriving as early as the mid-1700s, building the rural settlement that would soon become known as Fort Mill. For many years, this area thrived as a hub for the textile industry, which was eventually replaced by a diversity of other corporate entities as nearby Charlotte continued its urban sprawl. Today, as one of south Charlotte’s most popular suburbs, Fort Mill retains its small-town heritage with its historic downtown area, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
