Pappas is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a degree in economics. After college, she began her career in real estate working for Coates, Reid & Waldron, the largest real estate company in Aspen, CO. Before joining the Dickens Mitchener team in 1993, Pappas worked in Washington, D.C., where she worked as the office administrator for a successful congressman.

She holds her Certified Relocation Professional (CRP), Relocation Certified Coordinator (RCC) and Global Destination Specialist (GDS) designations. She also has been honored with The President’s Service Award, Relo Direct Platinum Service Excellence Award in 2016 and 2018, and inducted into the Relocation Hall of Fame in 2018.
Under Pappas’s powerful leadership, the relocation department has been honored with numerous awards for outgoing and incoming referral performance and marketing. The department was recently re-certified for the prestigious RELO Quality Certification (RQC), a designation that is held by less than 4% of the top real estate companies in the world, and in 2012, Dickens Mitchener won the International Properties Award for best real estate company in North Carolina. Currently, Pappas is serving as Chairman of the Advisory Council for 2019 and on the Board of the Relocation Director’s Council.
“Catharine is the best relocation/residential real estate person that I have worked with. The quality of her work and attention to detail is excellent. As an example of her going above and beyond, at the closing dinner for the client, she offered to drive almost 100 miles to review the client’s old house and work with the local broker to get it sold. Damned if she did not do it!”
“Catharine is a tremendous resource and advocate for transferees in her market. We have shared business referrals and I have always been impressed with the caliber of professionalism and care she takes with my clients.”
“Catharine was a Godsend!”
