This July, Relocation Director Catharine Pappas got some very exciting news — that she would be traveling to Greece come September. How? Catharine was the winner of RELO Direct’s 2019 Corporate Account Referral Contest. The Prize? A free trip to Athens, Greece to be an attendee at one of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World’s (LeadingRE) most renowned events, the LeadingRE Global Symposium.
The Global Symposium brings in independent real estate brokerages, much like Dickens Mitchener, from 70 countries in our affiliate network. The event gave Catharine the opportunity to connect with key network leaders who understand the value of being world-wide and globally-connected. It’s a real triumph for our relocation department and for Dickens Mitchener to represent Charlotte at this global event.
Every year The Global Symposium is hosted in different cities. The 2019 Symposium took place in the historical city of Athens, Greece. Catharine spent a lot of her time learning what is driving key markets across the globe, learning what economic conditions are like in our affiliate member’s countries and how this might affect international buyers coming into the
US. Charlotte has seen a huge increase in transferees coming from abroad to live and work in the Queen City. In 2019, the Dickens Mitchener Relocation Department helped clients move to Charlotte from all over the globe, including clients in South America, Mexico, Singapore, The United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Hong Kong and France. The information that Catharine learned at the Symposium will be valuable to these transferees and their families.
