2019 St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Charlotte Goes Green Festival

Who knew Charlotte was so into St. Patrick’s Day? Here are five events to get you in touch with your Irish side.

1. St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival
Uptown Charlotte – Tryon Street
Saturday, March 16 at 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Get your spot early for the parade as it marches through Uptown Charlotte on March 16. There will be floats, pipe band music, dancers, and other entertainment. The parade begins at 11 a.m. at the corner of North Tryon and Ninth streets in Uptown Charlotte. Stick around for the festival afterwards and sample authentic Irish food and drink while you let the kids enjoy the Celtic Kid Zone.

2. St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl
Uptown Charlotte
Saturday, March 16 from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Speaking of drinking beer, you will have plenty of opportunities for it during the 19th annual Rich & Bennett’s St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl. Since the pub crawl’s inception in 2001, it has continuously grown in size and popularity, making it the World’s Largest Pub Crawl. Check-in at The Pub Crawl Party Lot, then, follow the green-clad masses in matching event t-shirts and koozies.

3. Green River Revival
U.S. National Whitewater Center

Saturday, March 16 from 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.

The U.S. National Whitewater Center will host their 10th Green River Revival event. The day starts with a Color Me Green 5K Trail Run where participants will be splashed with the green dye as they run through the trails. Take a photo next to the river that will turn green as a four leaf clover at 1 p.m. Yoga, live music and plenty of beer are also on the day’s schedule of events.

4. Experience the Latta Celtic Festival

When:  March 17 and 18, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: Historic Latta Plantation, 5225 Sample Rd, Huntersville

The sixth annual Latta Celtic Festival celebrates all things Celtic with live music, Viking and gunsmith weapons demonstrations, needlework training, food and OMB beers to enjoy over the holiday weekend.

5. St. Patrick’s Day in LoSo 2019
When: Saturday, March 16th 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., & Sunday, March 17th, 2019 Sunday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Lower Southend & OMB

Join Lower Southend and OMB celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with green attire, festive music, and plenty of food and drink. At OMB, relax in the Biergarten with their spring seasonal, Früh Bock, that features a slight malty sweetness with a refreshing touch of citrus aroma from its noble Bavarian hops. Year-round favorites will also be on tap including Copper Altbier, Captain Jack Pilsner, Hornet’s Nest Hefeweizen & Fat Boy Baltic Porter. 1 Liter steins will also be available. Expect festive food specials and live music both days.
